COLUMBIA, S.C. - In a July 23 story about bills signed into law by Gov. Mark Sanford, The Associated Press reported erroneously the status of some of the bills. The stillbirth certificate bill was signed by the governor in April, not Thursday. The bill regarding "In God We Trust" plaques wasn't approved by legislators. The bill requiring potential teachers to under go criminal background checks was never signed by Sanford.
