This comes as a result of animal rights groups pressuring them for years. It now appears that a "foot in the door" will possibly lead to the other closures, or phasing out of animals at zoos, aquariums, and parks. We will have no one to blame but ourselves, if society does not change how it handles, treats and cares for animals. We have a responsibility and duty entrusted upon us to safely and humanely work, care and handle God's creatures. After all, humans imposed upon animals and we should ethically ensure future generations enjoy the benefits of living alongside animals too. I would like to personally see one month each year, set asside for Animal Welfare Awarness. To send a message to the Nation, that South Carolinians, enjoy fishing, hunting, wildlife conservation, walking our pets and liberty, but are responsible enough to ensure the humane treatment of all animals in the process.
