I am a Marine veteran, avid hunter/outdoorsman and a semi-new resident. I currently hold a CCL from Florida that as a Floridian is accepted in South Carolina, but now that I am a resident is no longer valid here. My concern is that in order to apply for my SC permit I must take the required class, be a member of enforcement or have been honorably discharged within 3 years of applying. I spoke with a person from the state's DLE but I am a little confused as to why consideration is not given to veterans (regardless of discharge date) especially when holding a valid permit issued by a reciprocate state. Could you or a member of your staff help to clarify and or offer some more information? Thank you for your time. Your Republican voter, Richard McKee
