-- BUDGET BATTLE
A joint House and Senate committee worked through the night Wednesday to compromise on a state budget. The House approved that plan Thursday, but the Senate did not, citing technical problems with some of the health care and education items. This sends the committee back to work on Monday. Legislative leaders say the delay will definitely force an extended session on the $5 billion state budget.
