Each year the Kiwanis Club of Spartanburg and the Boiling Springs Kiwanis Club sponsor a luncheon to honor children of good character from 52 Elementary and Intermediate Schools in our county.  We have 52 children, their parents, all 7 school district superintendents, principals, school counselors and the media join us for a tribute to these kids and the more than 10,000 kids we honor throughout the year.  The 52 students represent the best of the best from their school.  In all, we have approximately 350 in attendance.  We would like to invite the Governor to take part in our luncheon which will be held on April 23, 2015 (Thursday) from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Summit Pointe just off Interstate 26 by the Westgate Mall.

We would appreciate it if the Governor could let the kids know how proud she is of them during a 10-15 minute talk and then assist in the presentation of a plaque and T-Shirt that proclaims the students to be the Terrific Kid of the Year from their school.  Terrific Kids is an international program through Kiwanis and our program is the largest in South Carolina.  As a matter of fact, it is the second largest Terrific Kids Program in the world.

We appreciate your consideration of this event and hope the Governor can work it into her extremely busy schedule.  Thanks.
