In April of 2013 I was notified that an audit had been performed of my unemployment benefits and that I had been overpaid. That audit was appealed, Decision # 2013-A-12609 and the determination was made that I was not overpaid. When I filed my federal taxes for 2014 I was notified by IRS that South Carolina had filed a claim against my refund in the amount of $594. That claim was based on the same case that had already been determined to be incorrect. I notified the SC Department of Workforce of the appeal decision via their website and spoke via telephone on Monday, March 9, 2015. I still have not received the balance my my refund which the state of South Carolina still holds. In a case like this I don't think it at all unreasonable that South Carolina should have had a check in the mail within a week. This entire case began with incompetence and has gone on for almost two years because of continuing incompetence. I really don't want to hear any excuses or meaningless apologies. I just want my money.
