I however, have received very little cooperation. Just this week, we had to watch an attack on University students who were much more able to protect themselves than elementary students. Praise God for the Resource / Security Officer who was on campus to respond to the situation in such a quick and efficient way. With all of the being said, my daughter is at a school - elementary school - where she has no such Resource or Security Officer. The children at AC Corcoran are basically being left to fend for themselves. They are CHILDREN!! THE DESERVE AN EDUCATION WITHOUT BEING IN FEAR. You may think that since they are children, that they do not understand what is going on in the world. You would be very incorrect. My daughter asks questions all of the time. She has asked about Sandy Hook, Township and now Ohio State. How do you expect these children to fight off an attacker when even college students have not been able to? How can you act like my daughter and the rest of the students do not matter? How is it that there are multiple police at the mall making sure those under 18 aren't in there after 6:00 but we cannot have ONE police officer on grounds to protect these children? Is it because we are Title 1 school? Is it because the parents of most of these children cannot afford as much in taxes and therefore do not have the same safe opportunities as other schools? Is it fair to assume that these children can learn as easily as those in more protected areas? Why do none of you really care? What would you do if this was your child? Maybe the scores would improve if there was more community involvement. I hate that these children do not seem important. I am completely angry about it and I will continue this battle for these children. THEY DESERVE BETTER THAN WHAT YOU ARE DOING. My information is below should any of you care enough to contact me. I also ask for prayers for these children since safety isn't what they are getting!!
