Democratic Presidential Debate
Coming to Columbia |
(Columbia-AP) -- The South Carolina
Democratic Party and Young Democrats will hold a presidential debate
just days before the state's February 3rd primary.
State
Democratic Party Chairman Joe Erwin says the debate will be at 7
p.m., January 29th, two days after the New Hampshire primary and
five days before South Carolina's
first-in-the-South primary.
Candidates planning to attend
include former Vermont Governor Howard Dean, North Carolina Senator
John Edwards, Florida Senator Bob Graham, Missouri Representative
Dick Gephardt, Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman and former
Illinois Senator Carol Moseley Braun.
The campaigns of
Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, Ohio Representative Dennis
Kucinich and the Reverend Al Sharpton have not yet
confirmed.
The site of the debate has not been
announced.
The nine Democratic presidential candidates also
gathered in Columbia in May for another televised
