Haley, I am writing to you because I do not know how to get my one individual point heard from the thousands of others. I strongly recommend to follow what Texas history has done. Replace the Confederate Battle flag with the "Confederate States of America" flag for the purpose of history. We cannot and should not erase or deny the history of the state of South Carolina. I was born and raised in San Antonio Texas and retired in NC after 32 years in the military. My Name is Manuel P. Rosas, US Army CW4 Retired in Pineville NC. SC and NC are akin to each other. I grew up in Texas where for many years the Confederate Battle Flag was displayed as one of the main six flags that flew over Texas. It was in the Texas history books and just part of my growing up history. At some point - without fanfare - the Confederate Flag of America was used to replace the battle flag and has been for many years in Texas history. Thank you for your time,
