URGENT PLEASE GET INVOLVED!! I am writing you t0 employ your help in PROTESTING FEMA'S PROPOSED FLOOD ZONE CHANGES AND THE Deadline For The Appeals Process. I live in the Harbour Town Community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and have been here for fifteen years. In all of those years my property has never flooded during any Hurricane or past rain events. The proposed change would move my (our) properties from an X zone to an AE13 which would do several obvious things: First, I could not afford the $5000 to $8000 Flood Insurance Premium: Second, the property value on my home would decrease 10 to 12% from a real estate stand point: Third, no one wants to buy a home in a high risk flood zone: Fourth, all this would result in the  Foreclosure of My home for I could not afford the Flood Insurance the Mortgage company would require!!
On top of all this FEMA is only allowing a 90 day appeals process and Horry County cannot get agencies to release the studies in order to make an educated appeal. So, as you can see we need your help. URGENT PLEASE ASK THE GOVERNOR TO GET INVOLVED!!
