A LETTER FOR THE BETTER

Dear Governor Haley,
I am Christopher James hokulani Miranda. I attended Governor Wallace rider Farrington high school. I am writing to you because I think that George Stinney was wrongly accused in the state of South Carolina in June 16th 1944. He was accused at the very young age of 14 because of "murdering" two white girls. They sent him to the electric chair with no evidence and only a 10 minute trial	
His trial was an embarrassment to South Carolina. A ten minute trial is just pathetic. And they sent him to death in just 4 months after being convicted of "murder". If you re-open the trial it will promote closure to his family. They ran away from him because they didn't want to die to because of some white man's poor judgment. Plus to add on the jury was an all white jury.
I have read many articles of George Stinney in my Language arts. In all of the stories I have read about poor George it's all the same he is accused on just the white people's judgment.  Every article says that the white girls was on the black side of the train tracks so if anything the white girls were just asking for bad to happen and how do you except an 14 year old boy to kill 2 girls with nobody to see.
Although many people say to not re-open the trial because he is not with us anymore , that is true but the family will have a clear conscious for leaving there son to be put to the electric chair. Everybody knows if he was innocent that he won't come back but the  everybody will be glad that he was innocent and died because of a mis-accusation
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read my letter. Please I hope that you see that my letter came straight from my heart to that poor boy and his family. It would make a lot of people happy if you re-open the case. Just think of all the stuff you are going to gain when you re-open this case.
