I'm on my way out with medical retirement. I am an E-4 and my pay will be based on that rank. I went to Afghanistan in 2009 - 2010. A 13 man team and I was the only one that did mot make rank of E-5. I injured my right ankle during PT. When I got back home the unite said if I passed the PT test I would get E-5. This is something I can not do because of my injury. I passed the PT test before I was deployed and we did not have one while in Afghanistan. I feel I was done wrong and this will affect my retirement pay as well as my standard of living for the rest of my life. This should be an easy fix. I have no one to talk to about this then I thought of you. My other concern is not just for me but my team. There is a handful of medals, ribbons, and patches we should have gotten. We expressed concern with our at the time with our Company Commander. His words were don't worry about it the state of SC will take care of us when we get home. When we got home they acted like they didn't know us. There reasoning was the paper work was not filled out right and we missed our window of opportunity, this is an unacceptable answer to me. My squad leader was Sgt. Chapman 1st Squad, both are Company Commanders now with the 1226th and the 1227th. Sgt. Campbell is still in Batesburg, Sgt. Trull is in Saluda. Everyone else has gotten out. I would be so grateful if you can help us out. Thank You for taking the time to read my letter. Yours Truly, Specialist Wilton A Brock The Batesburg National Guard 206 Armory Street Batesburg, SC 29006 803-299-5961
