My daughter is 20 and goes to College. She has Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Thyroid Disease, Irritable Bowl, and an IGA deficiency. She has is taking 9 medication every month and an infusion every six weeks. She had medicaid and they are dropping her as of October 1st. We can not afford Obamacare. My daughter goes to Francis Marion University and wants to get her Masters in Psychology and go to Physicians Assistant School. She knows she needs to get a good job to afford healthcare for herself. She has a long road ahead of her with her health. We have applied to disability and was denied. We did not know to appeal. My mom has hired an attorney so we can reapply and appeal. Without her medication she will have to quit school because she will not be able to get out of bed. There needs to be special circumstances for people to keep medicaid. I feel my daughter fits the circumstances to keep it. She does not receive money and is not having babies like most young woman to live off the state. She is trying to make something of herself. We don't know where to turn. We feel the state of South Carolina don't give a care about her health. What are we supposed to do? Someone should be able to give her an extension on her health care until we appeal for disability. Every one I speak to says there is nothing I can do for you. I would like to see the response if it was there daughter who will not be able to walk or get out of bed without there medication. That is where my daughter will be if she cant get her medication. I hope this letter will be shown to Governor Haley and not just thrown in the garbage and read by an assistant. Thank you for your time.
