Both my Wife(Disabled Retired Veteran)and myself have contacted The Sheriffs office , Myself in person being told by the receptionist That a simple request for more Deputy presence on the street I live on to try and cut back on so many speeders is impossible. According to her I have to call the Sheriffs office when I see folks speeding on our Road (Which would be every 3 minutes) Rather than just attempting to Honor my simple request and have a deputy ride down our Road a couple times a day. My Wife called after our Neighbors Garage was broken into not once but twice and simply asked for more Deputy presence in our Neighborhood . I would love to be able to walk across the street to mail box with out fear of being mowed over by speeders. Being a lifelong Georgetown Resident and also a supporter of Sheriff Lane Cribb I would like to know when the Protect and SERVE part got tossed out the window ? Funny you ride down Hwy 17 and there is old Deputy cars beside the road to make a presence yet We can NOT get a deputy to ride down West Virginia Rd unless they are coming to investigate a robbery or something that wouldn't happen if they were to simply make a presence in Neighborhoods that regular folks Not Rich folks live in.
