The 1st graders at McColl Elementary Middle School are creating a book on authority for our Literacy/Book It Night and to correlate with the Social Studies Standard 1-2.2 Summarize the concept of authority and give examples of people in authority, including school officials, public safety officers, and government officials. We have 97 first graders currently enrolled. We would like to request for your office to provide a picture of Governor Haley for each child's book. They will be taking pictures with our principals, our school superintendent, police chief, and mayor. We are also contacting the White House to request individual pictures of President Obama for each child's book. We feel that having the actual photographs will make the books more relevant to our children.
