This may seem like the right thing to do, but after the events in Paris, it is exactly the opposite. When the Syrian refugee crisis began, I said to myself, "ISIS is going to infiltrate groups of refugees fleeing Syria." I'm sure I wasn't the only one to believe that. However, as we now know, a militant posing as a refugee, fled Syria, entered through Greece, and helped to kill over a hundred people in Paris on Friday night. I'm writing you today to beg you to join the other states who have declined to take in any refugees at this present time. At least until our screening system is fully capable. If you don't, the safety of South Carolina is at risk. My children are unsafe. Your children are unsafe. The United States is unsafe. We must stand up against what our federal government wants! You have the power...please hear us. Thank you... Best, Allison Fender
