COLUMBIA,
S.C. (AP) - Gov. Mark Sanford Wednesday named former U.S. Attorney
Mark W. Buyck to the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees.
Buyck, 69, has served on the board once before from 1987 through
1999. He served as chairman of the Academic Affairs Committee and
later as chairman of the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
Buyck, who practices law in Florence, now serves as vice chairman
of the USC Development Foundation. He graduated from the
university's law school.
Sanford also said Wednesday that Darla Moore, 48, would continue
to serve on the board. Moore is executive vice president of
Rainwater, Inc., a private investment firm.
