Tanzanians to Visit South Carolina on Ag Trade Mission
COLUMBIA---An agriculture trade mission of six agriculture entrepreneurs and two senior government officials from the country of Tanzania, Africa, has been arranged by native South Carolinian, Bob Royall, U.S. Ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania, and Les Tindal, Commissioner of Agriculture for the State of South Carolina. The entourage will arrive in South Carolina on Sunday, April 21, and depart on Friday, April 26, 2002.
The purpose of the trade mission is to help Tanzania with selling processed agricultural products and to help South Carolina and the nation sell the equipment necessary to produce those products. Thus, the cooperative effort will be beneficial to both Tanzania and South Carolina.
During their 5-day visit in South Carolina, the delegation will travel to several agribusiness sites in the state accompanied by South Carolina Department of Agriculture staff, Wayne Mack, Director of Marketing, and Roy Copelan, Director of International Marketing and Promotion.
