ASHBY WARD TRIBUTE

Honor memory by supporting I-73 effort

The outpouring of support our family received following Ashby's passing has been a great comfort to us. Thanks to all of you for your many thoughtful deeds; the visits, calls, cards and flowers have meant so much. Knowing that Ashby touched so many people has helped us get through these trying days and continues to give us strength.

So many of you have asked what you can do for our family. I invite you to join the effort to complete a project Ashby so passionately believed in.

For more than 20 years, he fought for the construction of an interstate highway to the Grand Strand, a battle that is still not over.

As a tribute to him, I urge you to support the construction of Interstate 73 along the route that will encompass U.S. 501 eastward from Marion. Our family would like nothing more than to see his dream of interstate service become a reality, and your efforts to help make this happen would be a fitting way to honor him. You may express your support of Interstate 73 by contacting your S.C. General Assembly and U.S. Congress representatives.

Our family is indeed proud of Ashby and what he accomplished for our community. May God bless each of you as you continue to work for the good of all in this special place.
