(Columbia) -- Former Governor David Beasley says he will join the
race for the seat Senator Ernest Hollings is giving up

year.
Beasley joins four other Republicans seeking the nomination for
the seat held by the Democrat since 1966.

Tenenbaum and Camden native Marcus Belk.
Beasley served one term as governor, losing to Democrat Jim
Hodges in 1998.
The 46-year-old Beasley has since taught at Harvard University,
