If the flag comes down my fear is that this will not end with it's removal. Will there be a call to remove the Civil War monuments next? These men that died fought for state rights. I have said for many years that slavery is the black eye on our history. Of course slavery is terrible and should never have happened, but we should not forget the men that died to defend state rights. Many fought against their will. I had a great great grandfather that helped Union soldiers who had escaped from the prisoner of war camp in Columbia get back up North. He had deserted himself. The Confederate soldiers deserve to be remembered just as much as the Union soldiers do. I don't own a Confederate flag and I never have, but it is part of our history. Please address the fate of our Civil War monuments. Thank you, Anne Nations
