COLUMBIA, S.C. - A Charleston businesswoman
has been appointed to lead the board of the state's health and
environmental agency, Gov. Mark Sanford says.
Sanford on Tuesday tapped Elizabeth M. Hagood to head the state
Department of Health and Environmental Control board.
Hagood had helped lead Sanford's Quality of Life Task Force.
She also served six years as executive director of the Lowcountry
Open Land Trust and is currently on the organization's advisory
board.
Hagood received her undergraduate degree at Davidson College and
has a business degree from University of Virginia.
Hagood replaces Brad Wyche, a Greenville lawyer appointed by
Democratic Gov. Jim
Hodges.
