I work for Bi-Lo in Pageland, in the Deli Department. I make  $7.50 per hour, 18-26 hours per week. If I were a cashier, I'd be making $7.25 per hour. Either way, this is not getting my bills paid. I can no longer pay rent to my sister. I've cut out satellite, keep my thermostat on 60 in the winter time and 85 in the summer time. How is one supposed to live on this little money? I get a little in food stamps, but I wish I didn't have to get them at all. I'm not asking for a pay raise of $15.00 per hour, but I do think i can live on $9.00 per hour. I love what I do. I am a firm believer that slavery is still here and alive today. The rich keep getting richer and the poorer slave more and more everyday to make the rich richer. Winn-Dixie cuts my check. I'd probably get fired if they knew I wrote you and belittled them, but $7.50 is just not enough! Please raise the minimum wage.
