However, your decision to call for the removal of the Confederate Flag following the Dylann Roof shooting rampage was a mistake. I cringed at the time I heard that you made the public statement about removing the flag. My initial thoughts were that you were making a huge mistake by changing the narrative and giving the liberal media the shift in the narrative they needed. I knew they would quickly move from covering Charleston and how the people in Charleston came together after a tragedy to the Confederate Flag as the issue. The media clearly didn't know what to do with Christians, white and black, standing together and praying together after the tragic shooting of nine blacks in a church. You inadvertently gave them a new narrative and created a bandwagon for liberals to jump on. I know that your intentions were honorable, but your call for removal of the confederate flag was naïve and just wrong. Neither the flag, nor right wing rhetoric, nor Christianity made or even influenced Dylann Roof to kill nine black people. His manifesto was clear about what motivated his sick mind to action. Now, the snow ball effect that started with your call to take down the confederate flag from the SC State Capitol has taken off and throughout the south, extremists are calling for the removal of the confederate flag, monuments and any symbol remaining from the confederacy. Please take a stand in SC to stop this tragic attack on historical symbols. You made a mistake in judgment; you can take a stand to right the course.
