04/09/1865 Lee surrendered to Grant.  SC started the war.  The least you can do is admit defeat.  Continuing to fly the Confederate flag on capital grounds is comparable to Nazi hold outs continuing to fly their flag.  What in God's name is wrong with you people that you think it is OK to fly the flag that represents a misguided attempt to break up the United States?  I visited Charleston once several years ago over July 4th.  There were so many confederate flags that I remarked to my husband that I thought we had traversed into an alternate universe.  You need to stand up and demonstrate leadership and enable your state to bury the past.  You lost.  It is time to get over it.  Please Governor, have you no decency?
