Dear Nikki Haley (R),
Thank
you for your work on a compromise to the roads bill.
Reform to the
infrastructure bank is a crucial part of the roads bill. Fixing the
infrastructure bank by folding it into the DOT will eliminate the
parochialism that got us to this state of road damage and congestion in
the first place. It is about spending our resources wisely.
The
amendment to give DOT veto power over the STIB selection process is an
important step forward. Please continue to support STIB reform and keep
the infrastructure bank accountable to the statewide planning process and
the people of South Carolina.
