Dear Governor Haley,

     I am a school bus driver in South Carolina and I was so excited to hear you had passed a one time bonus of $800 for state employees.  I patiently waited on the bonus that never materialized; so last week I asked our human resources personnel when the bonus could be expected.  I was informed that being a bus driver, I am considered a county employee and not a state employee.  This confuses me because when raises are sent out as percentages (as in a 2% or 3% raise), bus drivers are included.  Bus drivers have state insurance, and are on state retirement, so I don't understand why we would not qualify for the $800 bonus.
     I am writing this letter to ask you to please not hand out anymore one time bonuses.  The $800 bonus would of helped me and my co-workers out tremendously.  However, since bus drivers are not considered state employees in this situation, please reconsider how you reward your state employees so that everyone can benefit.
