Dear Governor Haley,
I am contacting you as a last resort on behalf of my daughter, Sarah Sprovero Smith. She is a single parent who recently went through a divorce with her husband leaving her nothing. She has been accepted in the Enhanced Dental Assistance Program at Trident
Technical College. She completed her first semester of general studies and is ready to begin the technical portion. She has been trying to obtain financial aid, which she clearly qualified for, but since last August the financial aid office has be stone walling
and/or slow walking her with technocratic procedures. There is no one she can directly talk to and they want everything done through email. The problem is this impersonal approach is exacerbated by the fact that their computer system is constantly down and/or
off line. Her latest email response of December 14th to them with additional information request of has gone unanswered. If this is not rectified this week she will have to drop out of the program due to lack of funding and wait a year to restart. Is there
any assistance that she can get in moving this forward? Thank you.
