I lived in Georgia for about 20 years. Though I was not born in the south, I love the south. As an outsider I just wanted to give you my opinion concerning the flag debate. I respect your decision either way but I truly believe that folks must be educated about the actual context of the confederate flag. I think it's unfortunate that some people use the flag as a symbol of hate. Thus the need for education. Just let me give one example. Why is nothing being said about Roof wearing a Golds Gym tank top as he burns the American flag? The majority of people do not understand what the flag means to descendants of the soldiers who lost their lives fighting for states rights. I myself want to learn so much more about that era and the south. Please, take an extra moment before you sign the bill to remove the flag. Thank You so much for your time. Looking forward to you being my Governor, Ryan B. Unck
