Dear Governor Haley
My wife and I moved to SC from NY, mainly because we liked what you were doing in SC as Governor. From NY, we followed your career the moment you burst onto the scene with the help of the Tea Party movement. We really liked you and respected you a lot, and even donated hard earned money to your campaign. We met you several times during your re-election campaign and told you that we moved here mainly because of you.
We have noticed that since you have been re-elected, you have abandoned your voting base and have fallen in with the establishment GOP. I cannot tell you how betrayed and sad we are at the developments in the past year. The STU "rebuttal" was the last straw. The "loud sirens" you speak of, are partially from the Tea Party movement that helped you get elected twice. The Tea Party movement is made up of people of all races, all backgrounds, Americans who work and pay taxes and want minimal government size. The people who helped you get elected twice.
You said that immigrants are the fabric of America. That is not correct. America's fabric is her CITIZENS. As an elected official you represent CITIZENS, not immigrants. My parents were legal immigrants, they came and assimilated. They considered themselves AMERICANS, not immigrants. I don't know when it happened, but the GOP and democrats have established that all kinds of immigrants (legal and illegal) are more noble and important than the CITIZENS of the country. This is not acceptable, because CITIZENS pay the bills and make the country function. Illegal aliens are coming here and taking our benefits and jobs of citizens. The unvetted muslim "refugees" you support coming here are getting a free ride at our expense. When did the CITIZENS lose their Rights, dignity and respect?
On the Today Show, you said ".Mr. Trump and some of the people in my state have contributed to the discourse (paraphrase)..." I guess that means that you do not want to listen to the people that voted for you? Just because people are "loud" in their support for America, American people, the traditions of our country and our culture..you look down on us??? We are the problem??? You had a chance to defend the people of SC during Matt Lauer's slam at SC, and you declined to do so. How sad. You turned your back on the people who live in your state.
In conclusion, my opinion of you has changed in less than 1 year. I had so much respect and admiration for you, Governor Haley. You had a chance to become a model governor, since you have done a fine job with the economy of SC. Excellent job. But you wasted a chance to show you are a leader on top of running a strong economy. It's a shame.
