Two former DMV
workers arrested and charged with forgery

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Two former workers at the
Department of Motor Vehicles have been arrested and charged with
forgery and criminal conspiracy, the South Carolina Law Enforcement
Division says.
The two employees have been charged with conspiring with others
to make and issue fake licenses, SLED said.
Tammy L. Keller, 38, of Charleston, and Aretha Denise Brown, 32,
of North Charleston, were arrested Tuesday, SLED said.
Keller made and issued 95 licenses during different times in 2003
while employed at the Leeds Ave. DMV office in Charleston, according
to warrants. Brown made 85 during different spans in 2003 at the
Leeds Ave. office, according to warrants.
The arrests are the result of an ongoing investigation by SLED,
the Charleston Police Department and the Secret Service. |
