Department officer charged with drug possession

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A state Department of
Corrections officer was arrested Monday after taking marijuana from
an undercover agent with the intention of delivering the drugs to an
inmate, the State Law Enforcement Division said.
Norward Earl Jackson Jr., 22, of Columbia was arrested around 1
p.m. after he accepted 64 grams of marijuana from the SLED agent at
a Columbia mall, according to an arrest warrant.
Jackson, an employee at Kirkland Correctional Institution, has
been charged with misconduct in office, possession with intent to
distribute marijuana and violation of the state contraband law. |
