Hello Governor Haley:

I know this probably won't end up on your desk but it's worth a shot:

As a 17-year-old student, I do my best to keep up with the news, so naturally I've been hearing about the Syrian Civil War, war with ISIS, and refugee crisis.  But what's almost more distressing then hearing about these human rights violations across the globe is our response to them.  I was very disappointed to hear that you and many of our nation's other governors seek to block the passage of refugees to your respective states.  I recognize that you have a responsibility to keep your citizens safe, but I implore you to read my article below which attempts to calm some of your fears about refugees and terrorism and also hopefully will help you understand why opening our doors to refugees is in accordance with American values.  But at the end of the day it's about alleviating the pain of thousands upon thousands.  I can only imagine the horrors of living a life devoid of hope and dignity and one full of fear and suffering.   So please, be part of the solution and do your part to create a world full of tolerance, justice, and peace.
