I was to fly into Myrtle Beach to visit my brother on 10/7/16.  He informed me that under the governor's orders, they were all evacuating.  Imagine my surprise that according to American Airlines, the governor had not closed the airport, so I am not due any refund for not be willing to fly into an evacuation zone!   Please explain why the airlines is able to cheat all us, using the governor not closing the airport as an excuse?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.  I love visiting there, but can't understand how the governor could allow the airport to stay open in an evacuation area.
