to go to the death chamber Friday.
Sanford denied Jerry
McWee's clemency petition Thursday.
The governor says
he respects the courts and will not overturn a case that was
appealed several times.
McWee was convicted of shooting
convenience store clerk John Perry twice in the head in July
1991.
Prosecutors say he then took 350 dollars from the
cash register.
McWee is set to die Friday at 6 pm at
the Capital Punishment Facility at Broad River Correctional
Institution in
Columbia.
