Four Regions In State Link Natural Resources Officers

South Carolina's corps of Natural Resources officers is organized into four regions covering groups of the state's 46 counties along with the coastal marine shoreline and waters out to the three-mile limit, which is the state's territorial sea. This year marks the 100th anniversary of game and fish law enforcement by the state of South Carolina.

All regional offices and the officers working out of them are connected by a sophisticated 24-hour radio system with a primary station in Columbia. A 24-hour toll free hotline-1-800-922-5431-is maintained for emergencies requiring immediate law enforcement assistance from a S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officer. Any person who needs to report a conservation law violation or has information that could lead to an arrest may call the number anonymously and become eligible for a cash reward through the Operation Game Thief program.


Region 1, covering Oconee, Pickens, Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Laurens, Abbeville, Greenwood, Union, Cherokee, McCormick, and Edgefield counties, has its headquarters near Clemson University at 153 Hopewell Road, Pendleton SC 29670.
