I moved to SC. In 1976 to find employment in this great state. Back in '76 I found the roads to be some of the best in the country, especially compared to roads up north where I grew up. The damage from the historic floods compounded with decades of deferred road and bridge maintenance, and the refusal by people elected to office in Columbia to adopt a long-term funding solution, has left our states infrastructure in disrepair. As my elected official, I am PLEADING with you I support a reasonable increase in the motor fuel user fee along with enacting other recurring revenue sources to be used EXCLUSIVELY for fixing our roads. The time is now for YOU, our states leaders and legislators and the business community and citizens alike to work together to address the critical infrastructure needs of South Carolina!!! Thank you for reading my first note to an elected official. This is important to me and my children and grandchildren.
