Dear Governor,

I am asking that you re-consider your position on requesting flood relief assistance for SC Farmers from the Federal level. The current farm bill was not written with natural disasters in mind. SC Farmers have experienced 3 natural disasters in one season. (freeze, drought, and flood). The amount of insurance coverage available at the maximum level is only 80% and will not meet the needs of the farming community. Agriculture is the #1 industry in South Carolina, and your lack of support in this endeavor is quite perplexing. Our country has stepped up to the needs of other states in their time of need. Why would you not ask for help for the main industry in our state??
