SCFAA to hold SUMMER MEETING at Hilton Head

COLUMBIA---The South Carolina Fertilizer and Agrichemical Association (SCFAA) invites all fertilizer, seed, agrichemical businesses, and others involved in the crop production industry to attend the annual summer meeting, July 13-15, 2002, at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort, Hilton Head Island, SC.

For the second consecutive year, the SCFAA will be meeting jointly with the SC Seedsmen’s Association (SCSA). The SCFAA and the SCSA have merged their summer meetings because of company mergers and acquisitions and because participants now have duel memberships in the two organizations.

Speakers at the SCFAA meeting will include: John Guthrie of Dow Agro Sciences; Jack Eberspacher, President and CEO of The Agricultural Retailers Association in Washington, DC; and Ken Moshenek, President and COO of Royster-Clark, Inc.

Also, on the agenda will be the annual "Clemson University Roundtable" featuring Dr. Jim Fischer, Dean of Agricultural Research at Clemson; Dr. Neil Ogg, Director of Regulatory and Public Service Programs; Dr. David Howle, Department Head for Fertilizer & Seed Certification; and representatives from SC Crop Improvement. The "Roundtable" format is popular because the delegates and leaders engage in an informal discussion and exchange of ideas about current, new, and futuristic issues.

The Clemson University Roundtable will be held on Sunday afternoon, July 14, and the General Business Session will be held on Monday morning, July 15.

Deadline for Hilton Oceanfront Resort hotel reservations at the special room rate is June 13, 2002. The special room rate is in effect for Friday through Tuesday for those who want to come early or stay late. Call 1-800-845-8001 and mention SC Fertilizer and Agrichemical Association to reserve a room at the special room rate.

The early bird registration deadline for the meeting is July 1, 2002. To register, call Jack Cullipher, SCFAA Executive Director, at 1-803-732-9093.
