On routes 26 and 20, for example, we were routinely passed by people driving 20 or more MPH over the posted speed limits. By driving only a few miles over the posted speed limits only tractor trailers did not pass us. Never did we see law enforcement stop anyone or be visibly present. It seems that there is no speed enforcement in your state; thus, drivers have no fear. This leads me to believe that if South Carolina did vigorously enforce the speed limits, the monies obtained would go a long way to improving the oftentimes poor condition of your highways.
