Governor Haley,

Mam, I am a soldier who has from Irmo served proudly in our nation's Army for 15 years and counting. In my years of service I have never had the chance to be assigned back in the Palmetto State. While on active duty I have felt embarrassed at times with my state's lack of leadership on the national stage. 


Since you were elected I have been able to see my home state project my conservative values and it makes me proud to know that while I may not live there anymore, the state taxes I pay are being used to protect and preserve the place that will always be home to me.

I know that in your position there is undoubtedly lots of negativity directed at you and I just felt like I should share how proud I am to be represented by someone as strong as yourself. You are an example for me to show my children of why we work hard and believe in the government I fight to preserve. If there is ever anything that you or my home state could ever need it would honor me to serve both.

I look forward to your State of the Union response and will be watching live with my in-laws here in El Paso Texas (they are also big fans of yours).   Good luck with that speech and please continue to make me proud to be a South Carolinian.

Lastly as much as this pains me (a diehard Gamecock) for the sake of my brother and my governor GO TIGERS.
