As a ardent South Carolina resident and Edgefield county resident I am reaching out to you for urgent intervention on a situation I consider most dire.  To update you on my concern I must digress a little. My daughter attends Horse Creek Academy in Aiken. The reason she attends this school is due to my dissatisfaction of the Aiken and Edgefield public schools. The reason she attends this particular charter school was the fact that the principle and staff were so engaged with the students and the student's were the focus of the school and the staff. The principle was so engaged that it cost her on a personnel level and causing her health issues. The school administration board saw this an recommend that she hire a assistant to help carry this tremendous load. Which she did. The very next school year as a consequence of hiring this person the school was polarized due to the politics of school and the fact that this new assistant wanted to make a name and position for herself. Normally I do not evolve my self with these type of issues since my concern lies with my child an her education and not the politics of the school .  Here is where the two combine. My daughter has reported on numerous times the fact that she is being bullied. She has told her teacher and the director for the school. Which nothing has been done. Not only has nothing been done. In my and more importantly my daughter opinion, feel that the teacher is bulling her or at a minimum negated what the other students are doing. Now she is currently admitted to aurora mental health facility cause she is having suicidal thought and extreme depression. Because of the this situation at school. I urge you to do whatever lays within you power, and look into the problems of this school. At one time it was the best school in Aiken county which is why I spared no expense to place my child there. My wife felt that it was a such a great school that was "concerned and focused on the student" so intensely, that she went back to teaching at this school after many years of not working. Now the principle that made this school the great school it was has been placed on administrative leave with out a reason and Now there is nothing but tension and termol at this facility to the point of being counter productive to my child's education and her well being. I have no doubt if the princple was still in command that this issue would have been handled long before it go to the point of admitting my child to a mental health facility.  I ask, no, I beg that you waste no time in investigating these issues and why all of a sudden there has been such a complete reversal in the school. I hate to say I am presently review other option in providing my daughters education. I was very happy with the way school "use to be".
