The recent terror attacks in Paris and Lebanon highlight the dangers of accepting thousands of unscreened war refugees into our state. While 99% of the refugees may be honest folk seeking safe harbor from the ravages of war, allowing even a sliver of militant jihadists to set up shop within our state is simply not a safe nor humanitarian policy. I wish to pass along my strongest recommendation that you join fellow governors of Texas, Michigan, Louisiana, Indiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Massachusetts and Illinois in resisting the extremely risky policy President Obama and his administration have set us upon. I urge you to consider either: 1. reject the prospect of accepting thousands of unknown war refugees outright, or 2. enact some extraordinary screening methods whereby we guarantee refugees cleared for admission have zero ties to terror networks. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Respectfully, Charles Wiggins Jr. Charleston, SC
