South Carolina Kids Count says fewer teenage mothers are having babies and more mothers are getting prenatal care. Kids Count tracks eight indicators of a baby's health and well-being. The report says the number of teens giving birth declined by 15 percent from 1990 until 2001, the most recent year statistics are available.
