CHARLESTON, S.C. - About three dozen Charleston
Air Force reservists were reporting for active duty Monday to
support the war on terror, the Air Force said.
The members of the 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron will be
used to transport and care for injured service members around the
world.
Those being called for duty include flight crews and support
workers.
Gov. Mark Sanford was formerly a member of the unit. In March,
Sanford transferred to the Air Force's National Security Emergency
Preparedness Agency, which helps coordinate between the military and
state agencies in times of natural disaster or homeland
emergencies. |
