Whereas Window Film provides a more safe and secure environment for home owners, public buildings and retail establishments. Whereas Window Film helps to screen out dangerous solar rays from impacting the health of commercial drivers to help protect them from skin cancer and their eyes from solar glare. Whereas Window Film has been proven to be one of the most cost-effective means of reducing our carbon footprint. Whereas Window Film provides both entrepreneurial opportunities for small business people to serve their communities. And Whereas nearly 80 percent of all window film in the world is manufactured in the United States by leading companies and offers significant economic benefits at all levels from employment to energy savings to improved health to the reduction of our carbon footprint. THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Honorable Nikki R. Haley, Governor of the State of South Carolina offers this Proclamation recognizing the many benefits of window film to our economy, both local and national. LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the resolution recognizes the many benefits of window film in helping both consumers and businesses save money on their energy bills and reduce peak demand for electricity when utilities are challenged to meet of the needs. LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that window film offers one of the most cost-effective means of saving energy and creating job opportunities, which are both critical to the economic health of our country. LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that our citizens and business owners should have more awareness of the many benefits that window film offers. LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the window film industry is committed to the education of the public about all benefits of window film through a nonprofit trade association known as the International Window Film Association. BE IT RESOLVED THAT April 30, 2015 be declared as National Window Film Day in the State of South Carolina in recognition of the citizens who manufacture, distribute and install window film and also the industry association that educates the public about the many benefits of window film.
