The local SCDNR has come back 3 times and said that the sale is inadequate. I am a non-resident active duty military member whose home of legal residence is Alabama. I owned a boat that I bought and registered in Georgia. After living here for a couple of years, I went to GA and brought it back to sell it. Having never used it in SC waterways they have most recently charged me $50 to register it in SC because "it is required to sell it to sell it in SC". The first time my buyer was sent away was that I used a bill of sale that was adequate per GA DNR regulations (home state of registration). The local DNR office said that I had to use a SC bill of sale (I wonder if they tell all out of state sellers that) So basically what I would like to know is if the state of South Carolina punishes every non-resident military owner when they are ordered by the federal government to move here and they wish to sell their boat or is this a localized discrimination. Very Respectfully, Richard Loring
