(Columbia) Aug. 23, 2005 - Tuesday, South Carolina guardsmen and reservists got some support from one of their own.

Governor Mark Sanford, a member of the Air Force Reserve, signed a statement of support document. It encourages employers to be flexible and support workers who serve their country,
"It's because there's tremendous sacrifice being made by guard and reserves, not only the individuals but their families, and what this document says is if somebody leaves, let's make sure that job is there for them when they come back."

The effort, through America Supports You, is asking governors in all 50 states to sign a similar document.
