I have filled out the request for him to attend another school in the attendance area in which he is currently attending. I was told by Mrs. Dale Smith at the district office that there shouldn't be a problem with him attending Oakland again next year since he would be considered a continued placement since he currently attends Oakland and then I received a letter of denial for him to attend Oakland due to not enough room at Oakland when he is already in the school and accounted in the attendance. So I set up a meeting with Don Isenhower over the school services and when I attended today before he even gave me a chance to talk he told me I was wasting my time and that I needed to send an appeal letter and go before the board but that I would still be wasting my time doing this. I want you to know that my son would normally go to Hendrix Elementary school and I have had a step daughter and two of my own daughters attend this school, all three if them in which have had to be in resource classes since getting them out of Hendrix because they were not taught as much as their phonics. My son has been to 4k at Oakland and already knows more than any of the three of them learned. I refuse to have another child who is on the right track suffer like my other three. I have went before this board before with my other children and one time their was myself and another parent with the same situation and they approved her but denied me. This is discrimination and I only want the best education my children deserve and I will fight whatever it takes to make sure this happens for my son. I would like to know if there is any help you can offer me with this situation I would greatly appreciate it. Sincerely. Misty Bogan
