I know one of the concerns of the Governor is the high rate of domestic violence cases in our state. If there is a way to not let individuals that have been convicted of CDV or have had Orders of Protection against them for a period of time, i.e. 5 years from the date of charge or warrant- not get them expunged during that time period, I think the rate of recidivism might be diminished. I know after 32 years of being a law enforcement officer that it is a multi-staged problem, not easily fixed, but this might be one way to deter it. Thank you for any effort that you make toward this type of crime that has taken a hold on our state.
